Free crochet pattern heart polleviewrap

Just because I love to share something with you. The heart suits the slogan “Wrap yourself in love with a #polleviewrap” very well. Hereby a free crochet pattern for the heart on one of your wraps.

What do you need?
  • 3 balls of wool in three different colors
  • Crochet hook 4.5
The base of the heart
  • Chain 3
  • Fasten with a slipstitch in the first stitch
  • chain 1
  • turn your work
  • crochet a double crochet in the next stitch and 2 double crochets in the stitch after that (increase)
  • chain 1
  • turn your work
  • crochet a double crochet in the next 2 stitches and 2 double crochets in the stitch after that (increase)
  • chain 1
  • turn your work
  • crochet a double crochet in the next 3 stitches and 2 double crochets in the stitch after that (increase)
  • chain 1
  • turn your work

Continue until you have the desired width for the heart.

The top of the heart

Then for the two spherical halves at the top, proceed like this:

Crochet a double crochet in every stitch until halfway down the heart. It can help to double-fold the heart so you’re sure you hit the half way point.

If you are halfway, turn your work (without chaining 1) and crochet a double crochet in every stitch all the way back to the edge of the heart. (decrease)

Turn around (without chaining 1) and crochet back along the heart. (decrease)

Keep going like this.

If you keep going like this the heart will end in a point, but there is another way:

Continue until you have a straight bit of 4 stitches left . Cut the yarn. The top of the heart is then flat.

Attach the yarn to the corner where the second round bit is going to be made. Crochet the same way back and forth with double crochet’s until both have the same size and height as the first one. cut of the yarn. The base of the heart is now ready.

The decoration of the edges

For the scalloped edge, I usually choose a different color, but you can also make it in the same color.

Begin at the tip of the heart, attach the thread. Crochet 6 treble’s in the second stitch from the hook. (You skip a stitch) fasten with a slipstitch in the second stitch (skip a stitch again) This is your first scallop. Crochet all the way around the heart this way

I crochet all the way around (with double crochet’s) my hearts with glittery yarn for that special effect.

Have fun with making these hearts.

For the wrap itself you can find a tutorial in my Etsy shop. The button below gets you there.
